France or Italy? Join Our Field Trips!

Two Outstanding Field Trip Locations

September is the ideal time for field trips: The weather is still pleasant and warm, but without mid-summer’s oppressive heat. These favorable conditions enable our field trip participants to fully focus on the fascinating geological features that our two locations have to offer:

Bordeaux, France

If your work is connected to shallow water reservoirs, you will greatly enjoy and benefit from our course, “Shallow Water Reservoir Characterisation”. It is set in the world-famous Gironde estuary, Arcachon lagoon and oceanic coastline of the Bay of Biscay. The area promises interesting discoveries and invaluable insights, to which mundane textbook descriptions and lifeless photo galleries on the web can simply not live up to.

Sicily, Italy

If your specialty is carbonates, join our field trip “Carbonate Reservoir Characterisation on the Field”. This trip takes place in northwestern Sicily and offers spectacular exposures, visits to quarries and seismic scale outcrops. Understand geological key elements for the characterisation of carbonate reservoirs, and find out how to analyse and assess the different control factors influencing a fractured reservoir.
