Wireline Formation Testing Operations, Interpretation and Design (RES74)

    Description

Wireline Formation Testing experienced tremendous advances in recent years. It is gradually replacing the traditional well testing with downhole assembly run on drill pipe or tubing. It provides faster results and hence is the prevailing method offshore, where rig cost is an important component of overall cost of testing operations.
This course provides structured information about Wireline Formation Testing methods, data acquisition and related downhole tools used in the hazardous business of well testing. It includes a comprehensive overview of the technology application, details of the hardware with its benefits and limitations, all important operational aspects of oil and gas well testing as well as procedures and recommended practices. A dedicated module covers the theory and practice of well test analysis and interpretation as well as test design.

    Course Level: Skill
    Duration: 4 days
    Instructor: Lukasz Ostrowski

Designed for you, if you are...

    • A geologist, petrophysicist, reservoir engineer, supervisor or manager involved in formation evaluation, reserve estimation and general reservoir engineering
    • Directly involved in well test operations
    • Dealing with service companies offering well testing
    • A professional with basic reservoir engineering knowledge

Previous experience in well testing is not required.
