Drill Bits and Hydraulics (DRI48)

    Description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the different types of bits (fixed cutter, roller cones, hybrids), fundamentals of bit design and selection, drilling bit performance and evaluation. It also covers the IADC code for bit selection and grading, factors affecting the rate of penetration and optimisation of the penetration rate as well as nozzles, pressure losses across the bit and hydraulic efficiency.

    Course Level: Skill
    Duration: 2 days
    Instructor: Carlos Alves
