(SENIOR) RESERVOIR ENGINEER (M/F/D)

We have substantial experience in the design and planning of underground gas storage (UGS) facilities, are a founding member of the Underground Energy Storage Technologies (UEST) consortium, and leverage our expertise on the application of CCS/CCUS, hydrogen storage and deep geothermal energy.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and well-organised personality on a full-time basis to strengthen our multidisciplinary team at our headquarters in Leoben, Austria.

Your profile:

  • University degree in petroleum engineering, physics or comparable qualification
  • Required expertise and experience
    • In depth knowledge on reservoir fluids behaviour and proficient in building reservoir fluid models and tuning equation of states using commercial PVT packages (eg. PVTi, etc) for engineering and simulation purposes
    • Good understanding of rock physics and the knowledge of analysing SCAL measurements to derive relations for defining simulation flow rock types
    • Familiar with material balance calculation methods and including experience with commercial software packages (e.g. MBAL)
    • Familiar with the decline curve analysis methods
    • Knowing the fundamentals of vertical flow performance of oil and gas wells and be able to create VLP models using commercial software (e.g. VFPi, Prosper, etc.)
    • In depth knowledge on pressure transient analysis and proficient in using commercial software (e.g. KAPPA – Saphir) to interpret welltests and derive reservoir and well related parameters
    • Familiar with basics of economic evaluations
    • Proficient in using Petrel-RE
    • Strong expertise in the construction, running, history-matching and performance forecasting of reservoir simulation models, together with the incorporation of geological models
    • Experience in using computer assisted history matching tools
  • Creative, self-confident and detail oriented team player with methodical and structured way of working
  • Open-minded personality who acts pro-actively, flexible, solution-oriented and thinks outside the box
  • High level of organisation skills with attention to detail and efficiency
  • Stress resistance, resilience and ability to work in a team and with a diverse group of individuals
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Experience in customer relations

Your responsibilities

  • Perform Reservoir Engineering evaluations of oil, gas and condensate fields, of underground storage (UGS, CCS, hydrogen) and geothermal facilities
  • Do cross-disciplinary data interpretation in team environment
  • Develop and history match reservoir models (black oil, dual, compositional, thermal)
  • Deliver concise reports and presentations
  • Mentor and train client engineers

    Legal requirements oblige us to disclose the minimum basic salary according to the classification in the collective agreement,
